Els de Ruiter
Sailboat
Els de Ruiter (born in 1962) has been working at the “De Kaai” art studio for many years. She finds inspiration for her paintings in people, animals, nature, water and boats, which she paints on canvas using oil pastels.
As the art studio is located at the wharf, Els also uses the water and its many variations of blue as further inspiration for her art. During summer times it shows a lot of boats with the flags of different countries, which is expressed in her picture as well. In summer she attends several beach projects.
Els work is becoming increasingly popular amongst the local community and on numerous occasions, customers have leased her work.
Last year, she commissioned a piece of art of 1.5metres by 1.6 metres for a building in the city.
