Fifteen-year-old Emily from New Zealand has been attending the Al Noor Centre for Special Needs in Dubai since 2008. Emily is very sensitive to people’s feelings. She likes to read, dance and listen to songs with a fast rhythm and Latin beat. Emily started painting as a hobby about two-and-a-half-years ago when she was still living in Singapore. Colours are a great source of inspiration for Emily as they allow her to express her moods and emotions. Water has many connotations to Emily: freedom to move around, swimming in the pool or in the sea and where fishes and other sea creatures live.
